management and engineering resource on customer site.
- Planning
in-house outsource work requirements in conjunction with customer
staff.
- In responding
to short term engineering requests GCL establishes and updates
a specific database of customer-experienced contract engineers
and experienced engineers who live within daily travelling
distance of customer sites.
- Training
plans and advanced resource planning.
- Managing
and controlling in-house outsource work by GCL project teams
in customer facilities. Control of budgets, timing and changes
etc in line with project-by-project work element and responsibility
definitions.
- Co-ordinating
component supplier support requirements (engineering, workshops,
etc).
- Database
management and release interface.
- Feeding
in customer/GCL 'best practice' developments at regular intervals.
